Seattle Systems’ New Slide Sternal Extension

Seattle Systems, Poulsbo, Washington, presents the new Slide Sternal Extension. The Slide Sternal Extension attaches to the front of a spinal orthosis to give the patient added spinal support without applying unwanted pressure against the patient's chest, as is common with other braces.

The spring-loaded Slide Sternal Extension adjusts automatically to a shorter level when the person sits and expands when the person standsso no binding or unnecessary discomfort ensues.

The Slide Sternal Extension can be attached to most thoracic or body braces for the additional comfort and support that is necessary for most types of spinal injuries.

By preventing excessive bending of the spine fractures, the Slide Sternal Extension helps to hold weak bones securely so the individual may remain active. A soft interface lines each sternal pad to further increase comfort and compliance.
