Freedom Innovations Ski Foot Eliminates Ski Boots

Freedom Innovations introduces the Ski Foot, which is the first prosthetic foot designed to click directly into a ski binding, eliminating ski boots altogether.

According to Corona, California, resident Ron Harding, a bilateral amputee who began wearing Freedom's Ski Feet last month and is a ski instructor at Bear Mountain in Big Bear, California, the Ski Foot provides a smooth motion and an added convenience never seen before in the prosthetics industry.

"With the Ski Feet, I just step into my bindings and go," said Harding. "The Ski Foot provides the necessary flex and shock absorption to provide a fluid motion without the rigid shock normally experienced when skiing. Skiing with my Ski Feet is absolutely tremendous."

The Ski Foot, a larger version of the Freedom Series FS3000 FB (Flat Back), comes with its toe and heel configured to fit into standard ski bindings. Additional rubber soles help the Ski Foot grip snow and ice conditions when walking as well.
