Currier Coupling Plus Enables Clutch Lock Use

The Currier Coupling Plus is a laminated four-hole European-style socket attachment block. It is designed with a center opening, so that a four-hole clutch lock can be used.

A vacuum-formable urethane is used instead of foam or wood as the connection material. When you place the Currier Coupling Plus on the mold and apply vacuum, the urethane conforms to the cast, eliminating the need for any filling or blending.

Another nice feature is that a groove has been milled on the coupling itself, so that when your PVA is in place and secured with the provided o-ring, the need to cap your inside bag is eliminated. The coupling also has milled standoffs, which dictate even laminates. When it is used with the finish plate that is provided, sanding on the distal end is kept at a minimum. The Currier Coupling Plus is easy to use and saves time and money.

Knit-Rite announces the addition of Pedor's Tothonator to its extensive line of foot care products. The Tothonator, designed by certified pedorthist Bob Toth, provides practitioners with a single product that can address many pathologies, including leg length discrepancy.

The Tothonator can be modified to address diabetic ulcers, posterior heel ulcers, Achilles tendonitis, edema, and forefoot injuries. Each shoe has multiple insole layers to be modified for plantar pressures and a Velcro removable heel cover for posterior heel relief. The double Velcro closure can be closed on either the left or right side. Available in TMA, Medium, Large, XL, and XXL sizes.

A commercially available shuttle lock and expulsion valve is compatible with the 4SN1.

Knit-Rite Adds New Combo LSO

The Combo LSO Brace is constructed of a firm polyethylene foam interface with a rigid 2024-T3 aluminum frame sandwiched between the layers. This approach combines the rigidity of an aluminum frame chair back brace with the flexibility of a thermoplastic body jacket.

The Combo LSO Brace has an adjustable hook 'n pile side strap and front strap closure. The brace is available in three back lengths, 12", 13", and 14". Sized according to hip measurement, the Combo LSO Brace is available in these sizes: small (32-34"), medium (36-38"), large (40-42"), X-large (44-46"), and XX-large (48-50").

Replacement Arts Designs Introduces ClearForm

In 2001, Replacement Arts Designs introduced the DupliCone now used worldwide for practical socket DupliCation and Reduction.

New for 2003, is the ClearForm Casting Cone. ClearForms turn clear at very low temperature and can be used to make limb impressions, instead of plaster, rigid dressings and even flex sockets. ClearForms can be reheated numerous times to make casting very cost effective. ClearForms are extremely quick and comfortable for the amputee and result in a better impression which saves modification time as well.

There are currently four BK sizes and use requires only a few simple tools.
